As 2025 comes to an end, I am looking ahead to another great year of singing lessons at Geelong Singing.

Here is a brief overview of what is changing for 2026 and a few reminders as we prepare for next year.

Planning for 2026
We plan to run lessons from Monday to Saturday next year and will continue using both teaching rooms. A confirmation form will be sent shortly for families to indicate plans for 2026, which will help finalise the timetable.

Lesson rate update
For the first time in fifteen years, lesson rates will increase slightly from 2026. This change reflects the growing costs of providing high quality, consistent lessons, including teacher development, resources, overheads and performance opportunities. Our focus remains on keeping Geelong Singing affordable for families and competitive, while ensuring we can continue to offer lessons that are personal, engaging and centred on each student’s growth.

Payments and rates
From Term 1, 2026 all students will move to weekly Autopay through My Music Staff to make scheduling simple and keep lesson times secure.
• Billing day is Sunday, beginning at the end of your first week of lessons
• Solo lessons are $38.50 per week
• Duo lessons are $28.50 per student per week
• A term upfront option is available on request and is processed as a single Autopay charge on the first Sunday of term
Lessons are booked by the term. If lessons are discontinued mid term, the remaining balance will be processed automatically once you confirm cancellation.

Attendance and lesson commitment
Until now Geelong Singing offered make-up lessons with eight days’ notice. While this worked when the studio was smaller, it is not sustainable as the studio grows. From 2026 the focus shifts to valuing each student’s booked lesson time and making the most of regular weekly sessions. This structure supports steady progress and consistency.

Your weekly lesson time is reserved for you and the commitment is for a term of lessons.
• Each student has one absence per term that will not be charged with at least 24 hours’ notice
• All other missed lessons are charged as your lesson and your teacher’s time remains reserved
• Teacher absences are not charged where possible another teacher may cover the lesson to keep things on track
• For additional absences, an alternate time may be offered if available, but this is not guaranteed

Next steps
You will soon receive a separate email with a short 2026 Lesson Confirmation Form where you can confirm you are continuing, finishing up, or still deciding. Completing the form helps with scheduling and secures your spot for Term 1.

Once lesson times are confirmed
• All continuing students will be enrolled in Autopay
• Families will be asked to enter or update card details in the Student Portal
• The 2026 Studio Policy Agreement will need to be read and signed before Term 1 begins
